What is a SpaceMouse, and how does it differ from a normal mouse?

Unlike a standard mouse that moves a cursor in 2D, a SpaceMouse allows you to navigate 3D environments in "6 Degrees of Freedom." You can simultaneously pan, zoom, and rotate models with one hand, while using your other hand (on a standard mouse) to select and edit.
Is it hard to learn how to use a 3D mouse?

Most users find the basic navigation intuitive within a few hours. To help you master it, the 3DxWare software includes a built-in "Trainer" app that teaches you the correct finger pressure and movements through interactive exercises.
Which software is compatible with 3Dconnexion devices?

3Dconnexion supports over 200 applications, including all major CAD and 3D design software like SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk (Fusion 360, Revit, Inventor, AutoCAD), Rhino, SketchUp, Blender, ZBrush, and even Adobe Creative Cloud.
Can I use a SpaceMouse on a Mac?

Yes! 3Dconnexion provides full driver support for macOS. Note: If you are using macOS 15 (Sequoia) or newer, you must manually enable the "3DconnexionHelper" in your System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions.
How do I choose between a SpaceMouse and a CadMouse?
  • Choose a SpaceMouse if your work involves 3D navigation (rotating, panning, dollying in 3-dimensional space) in design, modelling, or digital content creation.
  • Choose a CadMouse if you need a precision 2D/3D mouse with features tuned for CAD workflows (special buttons, optimised for accuracy).
    If you do both, a Kit combining both may offer best flexibility.
